Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice endorsed Republican Senate hopeful Dan Sullivan, who leads incumbent Mark Begich (D., Alaska) by more than four points in the most recent poll.
"Our nation and the world face serious threats to our security, and who we send to Washington really matters," Rice said in the ad.
Rice cited Sullivan's military and diplomatic experience after September 11, 2001, as evidence of his qualification to lead on issues of national security. Sullivan has served in the U.S. Marine Corps since 1993 and has been deployed on three tours since 2004.
"These are challenging times," Rice said. "America needs Dan Sullivan."
