Al-Jazeera was hit with more bad news Monday, as State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki only half-heartedly confirmed that her team watches the Qatar-based news network.
When asked to comment on an interview Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Zarif gave with Al-Jazeera, Psaki responded, "I don't want to speak too specifically to an interview I haven't yet seen yet, and neither has anyone on our team."
"Are you saying your team does not watch Al-Jazeera?" a reporter asked, drawing laughter from the room of correspondents. Psaki smiled and walked back on her comments, saying she does in fact watch Al-Jazeera.
Since its launch earlier this year on August 20th, Al-Jazeera has averaged a meager 13,000 per day, and only 5,000 in the much-coveted 25- to 54-year-old audience.
