Now, more than ever, we must come together as a nation and celebrate the heroic achievements of America's CEOs, the unheralded (and arguably underpaid) champions of capitalism who kept our economy afloat these past four years while "President" Joe Biden was face down in a bowl of oatmeal slurry, muttering incoherently about Ted Kennedy's upcoming sauna party, and befouling the musty air of the White House residence with his soiled diaper.
Few chief executives did more to improve the health of their business—or the health of America's political discourse—than Brian Roberts, chairman and CEO of Comcast, the media conglomerate and parent company of NBCUniversal. A few weeks after the election, which highlighted the extreme degree to which America's liberal journalists were detached from reality, Roberts made the call to sever ties with MSNBC by spinning it off into a separate company along with a handful of other declining TV assets. It was the corporate equivalent of taking a massive, manly dump.
Any normal person who watched MSNBC prior to and immediately following the election would understand why Roberts had to expel the deranged liberal network from the company bowels. The Morning Joe crew denouncing Trump as "Hitler" while insisting Biden doubters couldn't "handle the truth" about his intellectual prowess. Joy Reid lauding Kamala Harris's "flawessly run" campaign, citing the endorsement of Queen Latifah. Rachel Maddow, who makes almost as much as Roberts to appear on television once a week, pushing #Russiagate conspiracies in 2024. Chris Hayes making everyone uncomfortable with his on-screen presence. Al Sharpton lobbing softballs to Harris in exchange for a cheeky $500,000 donation that has yet to result in meaningful consequences.
MSNBC embodies the sneering condescension and virulent bigotry of an elite ruling class that was emphatically rejected at the polls. No one wants to watch Nicolle Wallace shriek about democracy or fantasize about having a threesome with John Heilemann and Michael Avenatti. Roberts should have shut the whole thing down years ago, but it's almost better that he waited because at this rate MSNBC's demise will be quick and painful for everyone involved. No more multimillion-dollar contracts to exude mental illness or incite violence to an audience of Joe Biden and a handful of others who are nearly if not entirely dead. If the vast majority of MSNBC viewers weren't bedridden hippies, there's no telling how many would be pleading insanity on attempted murder charges. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Many journalists and other libs were owned over the course of this election year, but no one did it harder than Brian Roberts. Take a bow, sir, you're a Washington Free Beacon Man of the Year.
