WFB Editor in Chief Previews Trump's Manhattan Trial

Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Eliana Johnson appeared Saturday on CNN, where she previewed former president Donald Trump's impending Manhattan trial.

Johnson said that any "sleaze" stemming from the case—Trump is accused of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels—will not impact the former president.

"We are not learning about new 'sleaze' in this case," Johnson said. "There is nothing in this case we're going to learn about Trump's character that is going to shock and scandalize the American public. … I don't think that's going to move the needle."

Trump is expected to testify in the trial, which is scheduled to begin Monday.
