The official Twitter account of the Missouri Democratic party advocated for burning down a home belonging to a supporter of former president Donald Trump.

The account responded to another user's tweet that featured a picture of a house with Trump flags displayed and the question, "What would you do if this was your next-door neighbor?"

Missouri Democrats then responded with rap song lyrics suggesting the house should be burnt down:

"The roof, the roof is on [fire emoji]. We don’t need no water, let the 'insert your word' burn!" the Missouri Democrats tweeted.

Republican senator Josh Hawley (Mo.) called out the since-deleted tweet.

"Here’s the Missouri Democrat Party advocating for a Trump supporter’s home to burn down," Hawley said. "Sick. There’s no place for this kind of disgusting, violent rhetoric in Missouri."

Donald Trump Jr. sarcastically said that it's "no big deal, just the official account of the Missouri Democrat Party openly calling to burn down the homes of Trump supporters."

The Missouri Democratic Party has not acknowledged or apologized for the tweet on its Twitter page.
