WATCH: Biden Impeachment Hearing Interrupted as Witness Calls Democrats Liars

March 20, 2024

A former business partner of Hunter Biden accused two Democratic members of Congress of lying on behalf of the Biden family during Wednesday’s impeachment hearing over President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s foreign business dealings, prompting one of the lawmakers to interrupt his testimony.

Tony Bobulinski, who claimed the president was involved in his son’s dealings, said Reps. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.) and Jamie Raskin (D., Md.) "[lied] directly to the American people without hesitation and remorse," adding that the pair "will continue to lie today at this hearing and go straight to the media to tell more lies."

Raskin cut off Bobulinski’s testimony and asked James Comer (R., Ky.), chair of the House Oversight Committee, whether a House rule prohibiting members from insulting one another would also apply to Bobulinski, a witness. "Does it apply or does it not?" Raskin asked Comer, prompting Bobulinski to sarcastically respond, "Am I supposed to say it's my time, Mr. Raskin?" The hearing continued after Comer said the rule did not apply to witnesses.

The Oversight Committee had also invited to the hearing Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, who served on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma alongside the embattled first son. Both Biden and Archer, however, declined to appear in the Wednesday hearing. Archer’s lawyer cited a lack of time for his client to prepare. Hunter in November offered to testify publicly but retracted the offer last week.
