WFB's Harrington Breaks Down The EPA's Focus on Drippings from Backyard Grills

In an effort to extend its bureaucratic reach, the Environmental Protection Agency is targeting small backyard grill owners. The EPA wants grill owners to use a tray to catch the drippings from the grills because the government agency links it to a global problem. The EPA also is researching how hotels can monitor guests’ water usage.

Washington Free Beacon’s Elizabeth Harrington found that the EPA has a list of products are targeted for efficiency standards and then put out regulations to try and change the industry.

Harrington also reported that the EPA had received a $15,000 grant to monitor how long hotel guests spend in the shower. The money would be used to create a wireless system that would track how much water hotel guests uses and then get them to modify their behavior.

"What you’re seeing is when an agency is this big they can issues grants and regulations. They have a lot of ideas out there and they want to change every little aspect of your life," Harrington said.
