Jeffrey Sachs, known for his work in Europe helping countries transition to a market system, rated how the Clintons used the money they received through their foundation as "not good." Sachs also said there is something there.
"There is a lot of money sloshing around, and everything is blurred, and it’s not good," Sachs said.
The Clintons have come under scrutiny again for the way they conducted themselves during the time Hillary was secretary of state.
The State Department has already said it will not investigate the undisclosed donations to the foundation during Hillary’s time at the State Department.
In an interview with NBC News’ Cynthia McFadden, Bill Clinton said he would continue to accept six-figure speaking fees, saying that he "has to pay the bills."
When Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough asked Sachs what he meant by something being there, Sachs said that it was people in the international relief and charity field that had gotten Clinton’s favor in exchange for donations. Sachs cited the work that the Clinton Foundation was part of in Haiti.
‘There were too many friends around. There were too many ad-hoc plane flights in to do this deal or that deal, and there was not the systematic approach that one needs after a devastation. That’s the sad part of it. Just a lot of schmooze factor, and a lot of money flowing without clear lines," said Sachs.
