Halper: Trump Administration In Need of 'Momentum' After Health Care Failure

Washington Free Beacon contributing editor Daniel Halper said Tuesday that the Trump administration needs some "momentum" in the wake of the failed Senate Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Halper said on Fox Business' "Coast to Coast" the question was whether the Republicans could "get anything done," as they've shown little legislative momentum despite controlling Congress and the White House.

"There's not much coming from the White House. There's not much on Capitol Hill as far as actual, tangible actions, especially following through on things that they promised," he said. "I think with Obamacare, it sort of goes to the side because there's not much they can do.

"There'll be some sort of bipartisan groups forming, there'll some sort sort of talks of how else can we do it another way, a third way. But in order to get that done, they need to have some action on tax reform ... They need some momentum, and if they had tried this approach to repeal it and then sun-set it for 18 months or two years later, they could have done that the first week of President Trump's presidency. Now I think it's obviously way too late to get any sort of momentum."
