Ellison Barber: ‘No Choice’ Allowed Under Medicaid System

December 17, 2013

The Washington Free Beacon’s Ellison Barber joined The Blaze TV Tuesday to discuss Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion, saying the system removes consumers’ choice when signing up.

"If you go to sign up for the [Obamacare] exchanges and you’re Medicaid eligible, healthcare.gov literally kicks you out and says, ‘You’re Medicaid eligible, sign up over here,’" Barber said.

Barber also noted how little attention has been paid to Medicaid’s terms of agreement, which state Medicaid can bill one’s estate posthumously to pay for ordinary health-care expenses.

Said Barber, "Not only are they forcing you not to have a choice whether you go on Medicaid or not, they’re also forcing you to accept these terms of agreement, whether you know them or not."

"That’s an added thing where you don’t have choice in this system," Barber concluded.
