Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.) struggled to recall exactly why he liked Obamacare so much during an interview on Fox News Sunday.
After host Chris Wallace suggested the confirmation of Health and Human Services Secretary nominee Sylvia Burwell would provide congressional Republicans as another opportunity to shed light on the failings of the unpopular law, Whitehouse said he'd welcome that conversation.
"Over and over again, people still on the uh, healthcare benefits from uh, the um, um, of the seniors who are, uh, getting their pharmaceuticals paid for…I’m struggling for the, for the — donut hole! There we go! It's been very good for most Rhode Islanders," he said.
