Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Matthew Continetti said Wednesday on CNN's "Newsroom" that Congress has a "great" chance of passing a plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
"I think the chances for some type of repeal and replace are great," Continetti said. He suggested that the chances became higher after President Donald Trump assumed a more active role in pushing the measure.
He also refuted host Brianna Keilar's apparent suggestion that maintaining tax credits in a repeal package would not be enough to constitute a true repeal of the law.
"I mean isn't it just Obamacare by another name if you keep the tax credit?" Keilar asked.
"Well, I don't think so," Continetti responded before explaining the difference between the tax credit and Obamacare's subsidies.
Continetti suggested that Trump would effectively negotiate a deal on Obamacare based on his business experience.
