Louisiana Democratic Party chair Karen Carter Peterson hurried away from a WBRZ Baton Rouge reporter asking her to comment on remarks she made earlier this week that legislators opposed Obamacare simply because the president is African American.
The comments were slammed by her colleagues, with one African American Democrat, State Sen. Elbert Guillory, decrying the remarks as "absurd" and adding he was sick of people pulling the race card to affirm their arguments.
Reporter Ryan Naquin added Peterson was sent a written request to comment further and promptly threw it in the garbage.
