Veteran Threatened with Eviction Over Therapeutic Dog

October 21, 2014

A veteran suffering from PTSD is being threatened with eviction over his therapeutic dog.

"It’s frustrating where someone can discriminate against another with disabilities not letting people have their service animals," Jessie Johnson told KVLY.

Johnson has "traumatic brain injury and anxiety with signs of PTSD," according to KVLY. He uses a therapeutic dog to help him cope with his conditions.

The dog is reportedly registered as a service dog and was approved by Johnson's doctor. However, the 0wner of the apartment building where Johnson lives says he wants the veteran out.

"Guess what?" apartment owner Larry Stauss can be heard saying on a recording. "I'm going to give you a three-day eviction, I'm going to go to court, and I'll win."

The apartment owner's company, Green Acres Management, did not respond to KVLY's request for comment.
