Opponents of Donald Trump have tried to get him to release his tax returns for over a year. A satirical news group took the effort a step further on Sunday afternoon, organizing an event for people to come and demand President Trump release his tax returns by pulling down their pants and mooning Trump Tower in Chicago.
The event was officially called "Operation 'Kiss Our Asses, Release Your Taxes!'" and organized by ShitShow, a Facebook-based comedy news show set in Chicago.
The protesters carried signs saying, "Kiss Our Asses Release Your Taxes." Some wrote expletive messages on their butt cheeks. One protester even had a bobble head of Trump mooning. One of the organizers said such events were the best way to communicate a message to Trump.
"I feel like the best way to get to him is just petty stuff like this," the organizer said. "Like, this is the best that he deserves, to look at my butt."
Fox 32 captured the protest on video, which shows several hundred people counting down to zero before pulling down their pants and mooning Trump Tower.

It appears the protest has not persuaded Trump to release his taxes, though.
There are no signs from the White House that the president will change his position on the matter, and Rep. Kevin Brady (R., Texas), chairman of the House Ways and Means, told reporters Monday his panel will not ask Trump to release his tax returns.
Trump's counselor, Kellyanne Conway, said last month that the president would not release his tax returns after a petition demanding he do so got over 200,000 signatures.
"The White House response is that he's not going to release his tax returns," Conway said.
