In an interview with Der Spiegel, British pop star Morrissey defended Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, compared meat consumption to the Holocaust, and said he'd press a button to kill President Donald Trump.
"If there was a button here and if you pressed on it, Trump would die ... would you push it or not?" Der Spiegel asked Morrissey.
"I would, for the safety of humanity. It has nothing to do with my personal opinion of his face or his family, but in the interest of humanity I would push," Morrissey responded.
The pop star also slammed the American media and said they were helping Trump.
"Whether they criticize him or laugh at him, he does not care, he just wants to see his picture and his name," he said. "The American media have shot themselves in the leg."
Trump "has exhausted the world," Morrissey added. "He grabs after everything like a little child. He is not a leader. He is vermin."
Morrissey also claimed Berlin, Germany is the "rape capital of the world" because of its "open borders," and argued eating meat is comparable to the Holocaust.
"If you allow the slaughterhouse to continue, you say: The Holocaust is great. Auschwitz was fantastic. Let us continue. It is exactly the same," he said.
In recent interview with the Sunday Times, Morrissey repeated his defense of Weinstein and Spacey.
"I hate rape, I hate assault, I hate people being forced into a sexual situation," he said. "But in quite a few cases, you look at the situation and think that the people being described as victims are simply disappointed. In the whole history of Rock ‘n’ Roll there’ve been musicians who’ve slept with groupies. If you go through the history, almost everyone is guilty of sleeping with minors. Why don’t we throw everyone in jail?"
