Matthew McConaughey gave important McConaughey-esque insight to the 2015 class at the University of Houston on Friday.

While People reported the main themes of his speech were "fatherhood, being a good husband, health, career and friendships," there were many other fascinating bits of advice to come out of it.

He reportedly told students "not fall into the entitlement trap of feeling like a victim."

"You are not," McConaughey said. "Get over it and get on with it."

"Yes, most things are more rewarding when you break a sweat to get them."

He expressed his distaste for the word unbelievable. "If there's one thing you can depend on people being, it's people," he said. "I think unbelievable is an unbelievably stupid word."

And he encouraged students to own up to the their mistakes.

"If we're going to make a mistake, we've got to own them, make amends and you've got to move on," McConaughey said.
