Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham unloaded on MSNBC for their offensive tweet last night Thursday on The O'Reilly Factor.
Ingraham said given the pattern of vicious attacks on conservatives at the liberal network seems to be a case of one-upmanship by their employees. "Every week it seems like we're talking about another controversy over there," she said.
In 2011 MSNBC's Ed Schultz called Ingraham a "right wing slut" on his radio show. Just last month MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry issued a profuse apology for mocking former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's African American grandchild.
The Factor host mentioned MSNBC's parent company is Comcast. Although their CEO Brian Roberts is a large Obama supporter, "he can't -- he doesn't like this stuff. I'm just sitting here aghast," O'Reilly said.
Ingraham replied she thinks the over-the-top antics from MSNBC personnel are indicative of liberalism's failure in the ideological landscape in America. Since liberals cannot talk about policy, Ingraham argued, they are forced to resort to hateful attacks. "They're out of tricks in the bag of tricks and this is the last card. They always drop it and I'm glad Phil Griffin apologized but something is really unhinged over there and screwed up," she said.
O'Reilly went on to cite Ingraham's own family who is biracial by the virtue of adoption. The Fox News contributor has adopted several children from Guatemala and Russia.
Given that background, all of the invective surrounding the Cheerios commercial and the tweet perplexed Ingraham.
"I don't know how you get that from commercial to that comment except they're desperate because liberalism is having a bad several years and I think that's why they're upset. It is really about them hating what's going on to their movement versus what they really probably even think of us."
