Bill Clinton is really good at getting paid a lot of money to stand in a fancy room and say things to other rich people. The Washington Post reports that the former president earned $105 million on the public speaking circuit between 2001 and 2013.
More than half of Clinton’s speaking windfall ($55 million) came from speeches delivered in foreign countries, including many in the developing world. Compared to the commoners in those countries (who would never be allowed near the fancy venues where Clinton gives his speeches), the former president has done pretty well for himself. For example:
