I learned over winter vacation that there’s no better place to enjoy the grandeur of college football bowl season than in Las Vegas. This epiphany occurred during my maiden adult Vegas trip when I was enlightened by gratis alcohol and forced to tell time by down and distance. Nothing like enjoying a mimosa with money lines over breakfast.
What makes Vegas stand above the rest is that it is the one place in the country where an insignificant contest between Mississippi State and Rice draws everyone's attention. That phenomena exists because it is legal to wager money on the contest’s outcome. School colors are thrown out the window as only one color matters in Vegas: green.
All of a sudden Syracuse and Minnesota combining to score fewer than 38 points becomes the most important thing in your life. That's the type of fun you can't buy watching the game with your family at home.
