President Donald Trump said "trade wars are good" and attacked Alec Baldwin's impression of him on "Saturday Night Live" in a pair of early-morning tweets on Friday.
Trump announced Thursday he would impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports of 25 and 10 percent, respectively, alarming Republicans and upsetting the markets. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R., Utah.), a Trump ally, called the decision a "tax hike the American people don't need and can't afford."
Trump wrote, "When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don’t trade anymore-we win big. It’s easy!"

After deleting an earlier attempt at the same thought, Trump later wrote, "Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!"

Trump was referring to Baldwin's recent The Hollywood Reporter interview where he said portraying Trump on the show was agonizing. Baldwin, an outspoken liberal, has portrayed Trump on SNL since 2016.
"We have to get rid of him," Baldwin said. "And then if, God forbid, he wins again in 2020, I'm wondering can I host a game show in Spain."
