The hits just keep coming from the scandal-ridden Government Services Administration, which is under fire for massive misuse and waste of taxpayer dollars.
Yet another video surfaced Monday showing a whole office of GSA employees holding up a picture of President Barack Obama and singing
"POTUS wants a press event, a project he can show … Are you ready for a miracle? GSA’s going Green," the group sings in the soulful, taxpayer-funded music video.
The video was shown at the October 2010 Western Region Conference in Las Vegas.
In full video from the conference, GSA convention organizer Jeffrey Neely tells the crowd, "That was amazing, was there anybody in Region 7 who wasn’t in that thing?
A GSA Region 7 Representative also says, "If they didn’t work on Friday, then chances are they weren’t in the video."
Neely’s comments were edited out of footage released to the Huffington Post by an administration official, but they were released by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Monday.
Lawmakers, the media, and even the president have expressed outrage at the GSA after an inspector general report was released last week detailing how the agency spent more than $800,000 on the lavish conference, which included a magician and a mind-reader.
GSA administrator Martha Johnson resigned in the wake of the report. However, anger has only continued to grow.
The House Oversight Committee obtained another spoof music video, also shown at the conference, where a GSA employee sings about lavish spending and lack of oversight at the agency.
"I buy everything your field office can't afford," the employee raps in the video. "I'll never be under OIG investigation."
The employee also mentions an awards program that doled out $200,000 worth of taxpayer-funded iPods and other gifts to entry-level government employees.
Former GSA administrator Lurita Doan criticized the administration’s attempts to pin blame on the Bush Administration.
"They love to blame George Bush for all of their problems," Doan said on Fox & Friends. "The fact of the matter is that there can be no comparison whatsoever, and when you look at it, it’s one of these situations where there’s simply no way that you can excuse the kinds of excesses that went on."
