Brzezinski Shuts Down Discussion of Kathy Griffin Story: 'Too Gross, Just Not Worth Doing'

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski on Wednesday batted down discussion of Kathy Griffin's controversial photo of her holding a severed Donald Trump head, saying it was "gross" and "just not worth doing."

Griffin has apologized for the grisly picture that sparked outrage across the political spectrum, and Trump himself tweeted that Griffin should be ashamed of herself.

However, when New York Times reporter Nicholas Confessore mentioned the Griffin story during a wider discussion of the fast-paced modern news cycle on "Morning Joe," Brzezinski blanched.

"OK, not talking about it," she said in the clip flagged by NewsBusters. "Sorry, it's too gross. It's just not worth doing."

MSNBC aired a full report on the controversy in the 9 a.m. hour, as did NBC's "The Today Show."
