Quigley Suggests No One Would Want to Be FBI Director Under 'Impetuous' Trump

May 15, 2017

Rep. Mike Quigley (D., Ill.) suggested Monday on CNN that no one would want to take former FBI Director James Comey's old job because President Donald Trump could "impulsively fire" them at "any moment."

"New Day" host Alisyn Camerota asked Quigley if he had anyone in mind to replace Comey after Trump fired him last week.

Quigley said he hopes for someone who is committed to "honesty," but said he could not think of anyone who would want the job.

"Look, I think there's a lot of qualified people. I'm not sure anybody who would want that job right now," Quigley said.

"Why would you leave some extraordinary job that you have now, knowing that an impetuous president could impulsively fire you at any moment?" Quigley said.
