Actress Melissa McCarthy on Friday made an appearance on 58th Street in New York, driving a motorized version of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer's podium.
McCarthy, who has played Spicer on "Saturday Night Live," is preparing to reprise her role as the White House spokesman and has already released an ad teasing Spicer's return to the show, the Hill reported.
Videos posted on Twitter show McCarthy slowly driving down the street with a line of cars following her. In the video, McCarthy can be heard yelling "come on!" and "watch out!" to passerby and other cars.
McCarthy first debuted the character back in January, and the impression became an instant hit. She has since returned to the show to play the Trump spokesman several times.
It is unclear what McCarthy will be doing to mock Spicer, but it is very likely that she will be hiding among bushes after the Washington Post reported earlier in the week that Spicer was avoiding questions from the press about President Donald Trump firing now-former FBI Director James Comey.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer wrapped up his brief interview with Fox Business from the White House grounds late Tuesday night and then disappeared into the shadows, huddling with his staff near a clump of bushes and then behind a tall hedge. To get back to his office, Spicer would have to pass a swarm of reporters wanting to know why President Trump suddenly decided to fire the FBI director.
