Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) on Tuesday belittled congressional Democrats who chanted "Hey, hey, goodbye" on the House floor after Republicans passed a repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
"It's kind of childish, I think, sophomoric," Ryan said on "Fox and Friends" of the Democrats' singing and chanting. Democrats sang the Steam song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" last week, suggesting that Republicans who voted for the American Health Care Act (AHCA) would not get reelected, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
Ryan seemed to suggest that Democrats' allegedly "childish" display was an expression of how disturbed they were to lose government-run health care.
"More importantly, I think what's happening is the left is seeing their vision of government-run healthcare evaporate before their eyes, and it's really disturbing to them," Ryan said.
He went on to describe Obamacare as a "failing" law and touted the AHCA as a "rescue operation."
