President Donald Trump on Monday recalled a controversy from the 2016 election season when then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton received questions in advance of a CNN primary debate. Emails hacked by Wikileaks revealed that former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Donna Brazile leaked the questions to Clinton before debating her primary opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.).

"Did Hillary Clinton ever apologize for receiving the answers to the debate? Just asking!" Trump tweeted on Monday.

Brazile later apologized in a Time magazine op-ed, saying that she would "forever regret" her decision. Trump, according to Mediaite, "welcomed" the email release and invited Russian efforts to hack Clinton's emails.
