Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) is repeating a claim about President Donald Trump's health care proposal that the Washington Post labelled as misleading.

Wasserman Schultz was asking for campaign donations when she claimed many people would be forced off of their current health insurance, the Shark Tank reports on Tuesday.

"Trumpcare was morally wrong and a terrible plan from the start," Wasserman Schultz said. "You did not sit silently as President Trump and Paul Ryan tried to mercilessly strip health insurance from 24 million Americans."

"You spoke out for what is right," Wasserman Schultz continued. "You resisted — and it worked."

However, the Washington Post points out the claim that 24 million Americans would be forced off of their insurance is not accurate. Many of those who leave their plans would do so voluntarily. Because the individual mandate would cease to exist, people would have the option to decide whether or not they want health insurance.
