MSNBC: Clinton Supporter Prefers the 'Crook,' Trump Supporter Prefers the 'Idiot'

MSNBC panelists offered a pair of anecdotes on Wednesday showing that people reluctantly supporting Hillary Clinton are resigning themselves to a "crook" and sheepish Donald Trump supporters are settling for an "idiot."

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said a friend texted him in disgust over the options before him on Nov. 8: Clinton and Trump

"He said, 'Well, my choice is between an idiot and a crook. I can't believe it, I'm going to have to vote for the idiot. It's my only choice,'" Scarborough said. "That's how a lot of Republicans are thinking. It's offensive to people, I understand."

Princeton professor Eddie Glaude, Jr., a frequent guest of the show, told a competing story about a man who stopped him to discuss politics after he gave a lecture in Louisiana.

"He says, 'You know, if there's a crook who's going to go into the cockpit and knows how to fly the plane, and then there's an idiot who doesn't know how to fly the plane, I'm going to vote for the crook," he said.

Scarborough said it was both funny and saddening at the same time.

"Sad!" co-host Mika Brzezinski chimed in.
