Even on a Democratic-friendly show like The View, vice presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.) couldn’t resist getting in a decent burn on the show’s hosts.
Kaine appeared on the program Thursday, and the show noted he was criticized for constantly interrupting Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R.) during their contentious vice presidential debate on Oct. 4. They even played a clip of Saturday Night Live’s recent spoof of him.
"I’ve apparently watched too many episodes of The View, with the interruptions," Kaine said, drawing some appreciative laughter.
Host Whoopi Goldberg asked Kaine if he was nervous going in.
"Nervous in a good way," he said. "I think if you go into something high-stakes and you don’t have any sense of nerves, you should probably do something else."
Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy has mocked The View for the nature of the show, which has been on the air since 1997.
