John Kasich is following 22 accounts on Instagram, only seven of which are definitely following him back, a Washington Free Beacon analysis found.
Kasich is currently followed by Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Gov. Terry Branstad of Iowa, Gov. Bryan Sandoval of Nevada, Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, Sen. Rob Portman and Rep. Pat Tiberi of Ohio, and Kathy Gray, a reporter for the Detroit Free Press. It is unclear whether Kasich’s wife and daughters, all of whom have private accounts, are following him back.
Among those not reciprocating are Mitt Romney, who follows Paul Ryan and the account for the 2016 Republican National Convention, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who follows Walmart and country star Carrie Underwood.
Eleven of Kasich’s fellow governors are not following him. Gov. Rick Synder of Michigan follows Paramount Coffee, the University of Michigan College Republicans, and the Grand Rapids Public Library. Gov. Nikki Haley of South Carolina follows The Huffington Post and ABP Makeup. Gov. Gary Herbert follows the Utah State University Botanical Center. Gov. Pat McCrory of North Carolina follows Chick Fil-A and the television show host Mike Rowe. Gov. Nathan Deal of Georgia follows Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Americans for Prosperity, and the rapper Ludacris. Gov. Robert Bentley of Alabama follows the Alabama State bar and an account for a local Crossfit franchise. Gov. Bruce Rauner of Illinois follows Rock the Vote and the Smithsonian. Govs. Rick Scott of Florida and Phil Bryant of Mississippi currently follow no accounts.
Kasich is also not followed by the Republican Governors Association.
