Watch the Moment a Blind Veteran Sees His Family for the First Time in 20 Years

Mark Cornell, an Air Force veteran, lost his vision 20 years ago from Lyme’s disease.

He now has the chance to see again thanks to new technology from eSight--and his reaction to seeing his family for the first time in two decades was caught on camera.

The electronic glasses enhance the quality of sight by triggering an increased reaction from cells in the eye. Cornell said it was "emotional" to have his vision back. And Cornell’s wife said that Mark being able to see is having him back.

Cornell admitted that he was skeptical, but having the ability to go out in the parking lot and walk around without a cane and being able to read a label at the grocery store was freeing.

‘This could help tens of thousands, if not hundred of thousands of people, both veterans and civilian counterparts," Cornell said.

Cornell served in the Air Force for 18 years fighting for the freedoms of the American people--and this technology allows him to have his freedom back.
