November 14, 2014

MSNBC political reporter Alex Seitz-Wald said that failed Hillary Clinton campaign manager Mark Penn was being brought back on board for a prospective 2016 presidential run, mainly because "no one ever really leaves the Clinton orbit."

Daily Rundown host Luke Russert asked why the Clintons were talking to Penn when "he took them for millions of dollars" and "produced a massive loss" in 2008.

"No one ever really leaves the Clinton orbit," Seitz-Wald said. "Even people who have been disgraced by scandals or maybe were controversial or didn't do as great a job."

Seitz-Wald, who covers Clinton’s campaign activity for MSNBC, said Penn was one of thousands of loyal Clinton machine operatives who have a "personal connection" with the Bill and Hillary.

"He did a lot of good things for them," Seitz-Wald said. "In 2008 there was obviously some problems there. They go away for a while and they come back. The network continues.
