MSNBC: Landrieu's 'Divisive Comment' Will 'Continue Reverberating' Through Senate Race

Senator Mary Landrieu’s (D., La.) comments stating that Louisiana voters' racism and sexism are reasons for the unpopularity of the president and herself have garnered national attention, and not in a good way.

Francis Rivera of MSNBC made it clear Friday that, "Anything can happen, anything can be said" in the week before an election.

There is no doubt she will regret what she said, and how her campaign is affected will be seen on Tuesday when Louisiana voters head to the polls.

"This was a divisive comment to say the least" The Hill’s Kevin Cirilli said. "I think it’s reverberating today, and probably if she had a chance to do over she might not have made the same remark."

Rivera agreed, saying, "you can imagine the crisis control and the backpedaling happening in the next couple of days as we'll hear about, I'm sure."
