Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) blasted the Obama administration's foreign policy record under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday on CNBC.
Echoing his critique from last Sunday, Rubio said President Obama and Clinton's foreign policy is based on a "failed notion [...] if somehow the U.S. stepped back from the world that other countries would fill that void in a positive way."
"That has not not been the result," Rubio added.
The Florida senator contended while the rest of the world does not like to be told what to do, they expect America to lead in difficult situations.
"They understand we are uniquely positioned to create a coalition of free nations who will do things like protect freedom of navigation in the seas or the respective territorial boundaries. In the absence of that, you see the chaos all over the world and [Clinton] was at the State Department when all of this was happening."
With respect to the Benghazi investigation, Rubio said he expects the Select Committee to be conducted in a professional way. The two questions the committee has to answer, he said, are why America was in such an unsecured position in Benhgazi and why the Obama administration initially blamed the attack on an anti-Islam video.
