Reporter for The Washington Free Beacon Ellison Barber said additional government regulations are not the solution to the country's obesity epidemic Friday on The Kelly File.
Barber pointed out Congress passed the Child Nutrition Act in 1966 and has obviously failed to curb surging obesity rates among children. The Free Beacon writer suggested if legislation were an effective means to address obesity, the Child Nutrition Act would have yielded better results.
Moreover, proposed new regulations such as limiting calorie for public school students is too narrow of an approach to effectively address the entire adolescent population, Barber added. "What works for me might not work for someone else," Barber said.
