Yuval Levin: Admin Will Pass Blame to Insurance Companies for Signup Problems

December 18, 2013

National Affairs founding editor Yuval Levin discussed Obamacare’s problems on the Kudlow Report Wednesday, saying that the administration will pass blame to the insurance companies for future signup problems.

"The administration is concerned about people going to a doctor’s office and being told they’re not covered," Levin said. "They’re trying to avoid a repeat of the politics of October and November in early January."

"They’re trying to pass the blame to the insurance, and when the insurance company says it’s impossible, the administration will say, ‘We asked you, but you decided not to help the public,’" Levin said.

On whether the insurance companies would provide any assistance to the administration’s problems, Yuval said, "They’re giving something, but not everything the administration wanted, and I think not enough to avoid the problem the administration is trying to avoid."
