Editor of the Weekly Standard Bill Kristol slammed former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm (D.) for suggesting Iran and Syria are "acting more rationally" than House Republicans Sunday on This Week.
Granholm compared House Republican efforts to defund or delay Obamacare to the allegedly more reasonable recent diplomatic developments with Iran and Syria, calling the disparity "mind-blowing."
Kristol reminded the former Current TV host of Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif's interview preceding their panel in which Zarif patently lied to host George Stephanopoulos about the existence of an Iranian nuclear weapons program.
Kristol told Granholm she may be wise to "rethink" her contention that the Iranian Republican Guard is more rational than the House Republicans:
BILL KRISTOL: [...] Suddenly, this great approval of the foreign minister of Iran and Syria. I think you guys really want to rethink before praising a guy who just sat here and lied to George about whether that have a nuclear weapons program or not, that is not like "oh gee, they're so wonderful" --
JENNIFER GRANHOLM: The point is, people are willing to sit down and be rationale and people we have been averse to for long periods of times and you've got House Republicans who won't act rationally. And just one more point about that -- one more point about this is --
KRISTOL: Do you really want to take that position, that the Iranian Republican Guard is more rational than the House Republicans?
