The country's largest union conglomerate on Wednesday finally admitted defeat after repeatedly botching a photo-op intended to show the labor movement's support for Ukraine.
The AFL-CIO was widely mocked after posting a photo Tuesday evening of its executive council holding upside-down Ukrainian flags along with the message "Stand With Ukraine." Upon realizing the embarrassing mistake, the AFL-CIO attempted to rectify the situation. In the tradition of unionized labor, a half-assed effort was made. The original image was sloppily photoshopped so that most (but not all) of the Ukrainian flag appeared right-side up. The revised version was posted on Twitter several hours later.
The mockery did not abate. On Wednesday morning, the ALF-CIO admitted defeat and deleted the poorly photoshopped image. It was an embarrassing fiasco, but nowhere near as disastrous as the child abuse inflicted on America's children at the behest of organized labor during the COVID-19 pandemic.
