A jury on Thursday found disgraced actor Jussie Smollett guilty of five counts of disorderly conduct for lying to police about a hate crime he staged against himself in January 2019.
At the time of the alleged incident, however, members of the media credulously promoted Smollett's claim that two men in "Make America Great Again" hats attacked the actor on a Chicago street over his race and sexual orientation. Democrats were quick to respond to the staged attack, with then-presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Cory Booker calling it an "attempted modern-day lynching."
