A media expert recently suggested "there's zero difference" between Stephen Colbert's Late Show on CBS and the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. Is there any truth to that assessment?
The former is ostensibly a comedy show; at least it used to be when David Letterman hosted it. Every show on MSNBC, meanwhile, features bland left-wing punditry and serves as a safe space for Democratic politicians to deliver their talking points.
A Washington Free Beacon analysis has confirmed that Colbert was once a comedian. A review of his increasingly political "commentary" and the long list of Democratic lawmakers he fawningly interviews on his show, however, suggests he has been reduced to a stock issue liberal pundit who would be more at home on MSNBC.
Alas, he's even starting to look like Maddow.
