CNBC: Worst Week for the Dow Since November's Election

CNBC reporter Bill Griffeth reported Friday on Closing Bell that the Dow Jones had suffered its worst week since last year's election in November, the same week it dropped 313 points the day after President Obama's re-election:

GRIFFETH: We won't -- we'll stop with eight consecutive 100-point moves for the Dow. It's not going to happen today, as we finish up what has been a crazy week, and the worst week for the Dow since last year's election in November. That's the first hour of the Closing Bell. Thank you so much for joining us. Have a wonderful weekend.

CNBC reported stocks finished mixed in volatile trading Friday, with major averages putting an end to two days of heavy losses triggered by Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's comments that the central bank could scale back its asset purchases. Stocks fell sharply Thursday, with the Dow and the S&P 500 posting their worst losses of the year.

Investors reacted negatively in November to Obama's victory over what USA Today called the far more "business-friendly" Republican Mitt Romney.
