A bear roamed around a Sun Valley, CA neighborhood for more than an hour this morning before being tranquilized by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Fox 11 LA reports:
A bear with a tag on its right ear wandered around in a neighborhood in Sun Valley for more than an hour today before being tranquilized by fish and game personnel.
The animal was taken into custody about 7:30 a.m. near Stonehurst and Clybourn avenues, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. No injuries were reported.
The bear appears to be a serial neighborhood forager; he had been tagged previously by fish and game personnel.
Residents of the Sun Valley neighborhood were fortunate. A Wisconsin man was brutally mauled by a bear outside his home last Thursday.
