ABC News anchor and political correspondent George Stephanopoulos will interview former FBI Director James Comey in April, shortly before Comey's book is released.
The mid-April interview will occur less than a year after Comey was fired by President Donald Trump.
Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, will come out earlier than planned on April 17 because of high demand, BuzzFeed News reports.
It's expected the interview will cover the 2016 presidential election, including investigations into Hillary Clinton and Russian meddling, as well as the former director's time leading the FBI during Trump's presidency up until his dismissal.
Comey and Stephanopoulos, who previously served as President Bill Clinton's communications director, confirmed on Friday that the interview would occur.
Book is finished. I’m looking forward to sharing it with everyone and talking about it on ABC. https://t.co/ksBZqIgVkH

Comey has testified before Congress since he left the FBI; however, he has not spoken directly to the media. He has been active on Twitter where he routinely defends the FBI and its integrity.
