CNN's chief national security correspondent, Jim Sciutto, called his colleague Jim Acosta "brave" after he was called out by President-elect Donald Trump during a press conference Wednesday.
Trump held a press conference and answered questions from reporters both before and after his lawyer spoke about how the president-elect will separate his business and White House duties.
Trump called CNN "fake news" at the event while addressing unsubstantiated reports from the news network and BuzzFeed that Russia has compromising personal and financial information about the president-elect.
Acosta, a CNN reporter, attempted to ask a question after Trump criticized the network, and the two had a back-and-forth during which Trump would not let Acosta speak and called CNN "fake news."
Sciutto discussed the ordeal soon afterward and jumped to his colleague's defense, calling Acosta "brave" for what he did.
"If I could just add this: a lot of charges were leveled at CNN, including my brave colleague there, Jim Acosta," Sciutto said.
