A Santa Claus impersonator at a mall in Sanford, Florida was relieved of his duties after a woman said the Santa told her daughter that Hillary Clinton is on the naughty list this year, News 6 Orlando reported Friday.
The man then laughed after breaking the news to the child.
The mother at the Seminole Town Centre lodged a complaint with management on Tuesday night after the incident.
She said that her daughter was asked what she wanted for Christmas, being insured that she was on the nice list. The Santa then offered up some information on Clinton to the child, News 6 reported.
"Do you know who is on my naughty list? Hillary Clinton," the man said before laughing, according to the 10-year-old girl.
After the mother complained to management, News 6 also contacted the company that dispatched the Santa. A spokesman apologized to the family for what happened.
The Santa was subsequently sent to counseling after the event, according to the news report.
News 6 found out that company is The Noerr Program, Inc., which provides Santas to malls around the country. A spokesman said the Santa in question told them he thought it was a joke, but when the mother called to complain, they removed him from the mall floor.
Spokesman Charlie Russell said his company apologized to the girl's family.
He also said the Santa in question was sent to counseling in human resources.
News 6 also asked if the Santa would return after his counseling, but the spokesman did not know.
