Oren: Netanyahu spoke with Obama today

'The U.S. reaction has (been) to express complete understanding of our situation and support for our right to defend our citizens from terrorist attacks'

Israeli ambassador Michael Oren said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with President Obama this afternoon, after what Israeli officials are calling a “widespread campaign on terror sites and operatives in the Gaza Strip, chief among them Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets” in the wake of rocket attacks on Israel.

“We’ve been closely coordinating and communicating with the United States government,” Oren said in an interview with Wolf Blitzer. “Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke with Vice President Biden today, as well as President Obama about an hour ago.”

“The U.S. reaction has (been) to express complete understanding of our situation and support for our right to defend our citizens from terrorist attacks,” Oren said.
