Political statistician Nate Silver said Monday that a fundraising email sent by Jon Ossoff, the Democratic congressional candidate running in Georgia's sixth district, "was making shit up" about him.
The fundraising email sent out on Monday claimed that Silver said Ossoff must win Georgia's special election for Democrats to take back the House.
Silver, editor of the data website FiveThirtyEight, responded to a tweet that said Silver was back in the fundraising emails by declaring that Ossoff was "making shit up that .@NateSilver538 never said."

This is not the first time that Ossoff has been caught not telling the truth as he seeks to take the seat vacated by Tom Price, who now serves as President Trump's secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Democrat admitted two weeks ago that he misrepresented his national security credentials by saying that he had "top-secret clearance" for five years when he actually only had the clearance for five months, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
The special election for Georgia's sixth district seat will be held April 18.
