On ABC’s This Week Mark Halperin said that if an assistant secretary at the State Department had done the things that Hillary Clinton had done during her time as secretary of state, such as having a personal email server, a family foundation, and commingling, that assistant secretary would be out of a job.
Some of the newest evidence against Clinton is that when she became secretary of state, Bill Clinton’s speaking fees more than tripled. She also did not disclose a more than $2 million donation to the Clinton Foundation when the Obama administration required her to. Halperin asked whether there was any evidence or if she discussed donations to the foundation on her personal email that she considered personal and then deleted.
"If they hadn't been so careless at the foundation and hadn't deleted the emails and put somebody on the show to answer the questions, I think a lot of this could be put to rest—but none of those things are true," said Halperin.
Political commentator John Heilemann said Clinton’s recent actions are coming off as an appearance of an obstruction of justice.
