Lifetime, the self-declared channel for women, is launching a web series editorializing a young Hillary Clinton’s desire to run for student body president of East Plains High School, Entertainment Weekly reported Tuesday.
"Dear Diary, I know I’m not like other girls. I am not afraid of boys. The most important part of my day is saluting the flag of this great country, and above all, I want to be president, student body president of East Plains High," says a young Clinton voice over in a trailer for The Young Hillary Diaries.
The trailer and episode one, titled "Chapter 1: Run Like a Girl," both start off with an actress portraying a young Clinton writing in her "Every Day Diary."
The web series was created by Mandy Fabian, Jessica Cabot, Celia Blundo, and Tyler Bourdeau.
Cabot plays a young Clinton who faces the uncertainty and backlash of wanting to be the first female student body president.
Chapter one features video footage from 1964 and more recent video from Clinton’s 2016 campaign launch in New York City as a foreshadowing effect of teenage Clinton’s higher office aspirations.
Cabot is no Reese Witherspoon as Tracy Flick.
